IDT Director Elfriede Dustin Selected to Leadership Team of Grace Hopper Event
May 29, 2014—Elfriede Dustin, a director at Innovative Defense Technologies (IDT), has been named to the leadership committee for the 2014 Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing. The event will be held October 8-10, 2014 in Phoenix, Arizona.
The Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing is said to be the largest gathering of women technologists in the world (http://gracehopper.org/). Co-founded by Dr. Anita Borg and Dr. Telle Whitney in 1994, and inspired by the legacy of Admiral Grace Murray Hopper, the annual event is designed to bring the research and career interests of women in computing to the forefront. Last year’s gathering in Minneapolis attracted almost 5,000 attendees. Registration for the event opens June 2, 2014.
“It is an honor to serve on the leadership team of the Grace Hopper Celebration this year. I share the vision of this organization to inspire women toward technological innovation,” said Dustin. She will be a member of the Software Engineering Leadership Track for the event.
Dustin is currently a software engineer and director at IDT, where she applies her passion for technology to automated software testing. She is a published author and frequent speaker on the topic of automation. IDT supports initiatives that invite women to explore careers in technology. See IDT’s Careers page for more information.
