The conference brings together DoD decision-makers with scientists and engineers and will focus on the topic Leveraging the DoD Science and Technology Program to Create Future Warfighting Capabilities Through Rapid Prototyping and Emerging Concept Demonstration. The Honorable Frank Kendall, Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology, and Logistics will be giving a keynote address. The DoD is the single largest employer of scientists and engineers in the United States and their partnership with industry is vital to the enhancement of military capabilities.

Testing Starts at the Beginning

Ms. Dustin will present her poster paper entitled Testing Starts at the Beginning. The focus of her presentation will be on best practices in the testing of complex military systems, such as moving testing to the left of the software development life-cycle in order to discover and fix defects early, when it is still inexpensive to do so. Additionally this presentation will cover automated software testing using the Automated Test and ReTest (ATRT) suite of solutions and discuss the benefits of applying these types of best practices.

Elfriede Dustin is a Technical Director at Innovative Defense Technologies (IDT) and is one of the primary engineers involved in the development of ATRT: Test Manager. She is a solutions group lead and manages various customer relationships, solving their unique testing needs by applying ATRT capabilities to a variety of testing programs.

The conference runs from Tuesday through Thursday, April 8-10, 2014, and will be held at the College Park Marriott Hotel and Conference Center. More information is available here.
