ARLINGTON, VA—November 29, 2016— Innovative Defense Technologies (IDT) announces the release of its 2017 Programming Contest problem. Teams who have already registered for the event have been contacted and can now begin working on solutions. Interested DC-area high school students who have not yet registered should contact IDT to sign up and access this year’s problem.

Students will have the months of December, January and early February to work on their solutions. During the solution development phase, participants can check in with IDT engineers to review progress and ask questions. They will use GitHub for code control and final submission.

The deadline for submissions is February 17, 2017. Finalist teams will be invited to a Presentation Day in Arlington, Virginia on Saturday, March 18, 2017. Valuable prizes are awarded to all finalists and their schools.
