Automated Software Testing Interns Gain Valuable Experience at IDT

Arlington, VA—June 7, 2013— Each summer, Innovative Defense Technologies (IDT) runs a robust internship program. Students are recruited from select colleges and apply for this competitive, twelve-week, paid program. The company provides each intern with meaningful, hands-on computer engineering experience. Throughout the summer, interns gain valuable exposure to Automated Software Testing technology, which is the cornerstone of IDT’s innovative products and services.

This year’s group of fourteen interns began arriving in May and joined three existing co-ops. Representing thirteen different schools, most of these students are studying computer science, engineering or math. Following a rigorous interview process which included conversations with multiple engineers, interns were selected based on their skills, background and interests. Once hired, they were matched with projects that best fit these factors.

Upon arrival, interns participate in a substantial orientation and training program. They are assigned a mentor engineer who teaches and guides them throughout the summer, as well as a personnel manager who tasks them with assignments. Interns work about thirty-five hours per week and are placed in all four of IDT’s locations.
