Innovative Defense Technologies’ (IDT’s) Missile Defense Business Area was awarded a Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase III contract with the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). The task-based Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract was awarded with a ceiling of $33.1M over a 5-year period of performance. The MDA Sea Based Weapons Systems Directorate (AB) is expected to use this contract vehicle to pursue digital transformation objectives for Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD), including use of the Automated Test and Retest (ATRT) Enterprise Platform (AEP) to conduct Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), expand upon the Virtual System of Systems Test Environment (VSTE), increase automated test and analysis capabilities, and apply the Automated Interface Middleware Services (AIMS) to create an Element Model Framework (EMF) for Aegis BMD modeling and simulation. The MDA and IDT are currently negotiating the first task order which is expected to begin early July 2024.
