Arlington, VA—March 13, 2019–This week, Innovative Defense Technologies (IDT) launched a Collection Drive and Letter-Writing campaign in support of Operation Gratitude. This outreach effort will run from March 11-21, 2019 in all IDT offices. Collected items will be sent to Operation Gratitude for inclusion in their care packages for members of the military and first responders.
To help kick off this year’s campaign, Operation Gratitude’s CEO, Kevin Schmiegel, visited IDT to speak with employees about the organization. He shared some background on its founding, moving stories from care package recipients, and its significant goals for the future. Kevin spoke to a room full of employees in IDT’s Arlington office and his comments were shared via livestream in all IDT locations.
Every year, Operation Gratitude sends over 300,000 care packages to Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines, Coast Guardsmen, Veterans, First Responders, Military Families and Wounded Heroes. The boxes are individually addressed and include personalized letters and a variety of purchased and handmade items.
This is the fourth time IDT has partnered with Operation Gratitude. In the past, employees have woven paracord survival bracelets, written letters to deployed troops, and donated needed items. IDT values this unique partnership and looks forward to supporting the organization’s efforts to encourage our U.S. Military and other heroes in this tangible way.
